I had a fantastic time in Darwin, where I interned at Aboriginal Peak Organisations of the Northern
Territory (APO NT) for five weeks in June/July 2019 as part of the Aurora Internship Program. I had
Spending six weeks at APO NT via the Aurora Internship Program was the perfect end to my time at university and start of a next chapter. I just finished my Honours year and stepping out of the books and into the real world was a difficult but much needed and welcomed change.
Having just returned from a six month trip for my semester abroad where I studied at Trinity College in Dublin, Darwin was a real shock to the system. Firstly, my body struggled to handle the relentless and sweaty humidity, and I was shaken by the tropical rain every evening.
During June to July 2017 I completed an Aurora internship with the North Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance Ltd (NAILSMA) in Darwin.
Reflecting on my time as an Aurora intern with Aboriginal Peak Organisations of the Northern Territory (APO NT), I could not be happier that I made the choice to apply to the Aurora Internship Program for the 2017 winter round.
Between January and March of 2017, I had the opportunity to intern via the Aurora Internship Program with the North Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance Ltd. (NAILSMA).
I arrived in Darwin on the 1st of November 2016 with very few expectations.
