Spending six weeks at APO NT via the Aurora Internship Program was the perfect end to my time at university and start of a next chapter. I just finished my Honours year and stepping out of the books and into the real world was a difficult but much needed and welcomed change.
To finish off my undergraduate degree, I decided to undertake an internship with the Aurora Internship Program over the summer holidays.
For five weeks over June – July I was privileged to undertake an Aurora internship with the Northern Territory Government’s Aboriginal Justice Unit, which operates under the Department of Attorney-General and Justice.
As part of the Aurora Internship Program, I was given the opportunity to spend 6 weeks with NAAJA in the Law and Justice Projects division, working with the Law and Justice Projects manager, Community Legal Education (CLE) team, Restorative Justice officer, and the Peer Panel coordinator.
From June to July 2018, I had the wonderful opportunity of interning with The North Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance (NAILSMA) in Darwin, through the Aurora Internship Program.
