Through the Aurora Project, I undertook an internship with NTSCORP’s legal team from late November to late December 2018.
With my first year of university coming to a close and summer nearing, I was in need of work. I spoke to the careers centre at uni and was informed of the Aurora Project Internship Program.
Over the summer holidays I was very fortunate to complete an Aurora Internship with Just Reinvest NSW, a non-for-profit organisation that advocates for the adoption of justice reinvestment in NSW.
The National Justice Project – A beacon of hope
I undertook an Aurora internship for 5 weeks in summer of 2018-19. The Aurora Internship Program is aimed at getting Indigenous and non-Indigenous law and social science students into internships in Indigenous sector organisations.
Fresh from a fantastic internship at UTS Jumbunna in February 2018 via the Aurora Internship Program, I applied for a second one, and was placed with the Aboriginal Legal Service at their Head Office.
As part of the Aurora Internship Program (Summer 2018/19), I was afforded the opportunity to spend six weeks with the Aboriginal Legal Service Care and Protection team (‘ALS’) in Parramatta, NSW.
