I found out about the Aurora Internship Program while searching for internships that would fall in line with my studies and interest me on a personal level. At the time, I was finishing my second year of cultural studies in Bremen, Germany and knew I was heading to Australia for my semester brea
During the summer before my final year of law school, I had the great fortune of undertaking an Aurora internship with the North Queensland Land Council (NQLC), a Native Title Representative Body (NTRB).
As a 3rd year Anthropology and Sociology student, I could not pass up the opportunity to learn more about the relationships between the Federal and State governments and the ongoing battle for recognition and protection of the cultural heritage of Indigenous Australians.
I graduated from QUT at the end of 2012, and was finishing up my PLT studies during 2012 when I initially heard about the Aurora Native Title Internship Program from a friend.
