Commencing my final semester at university was made all the more exciting by my acceptance into the Aurora Internship Program.
This summer, I decided to flee the Brisbane heat and head down to Melbourne to complete a 6-week internship with the NNTC (National Native Title Council) as part of the Aurora Internship Program.
The Aurora internship was an amazing experience. I knew little about native title before going into the internship and have finished with an understanding of corporate social responsibility, native title, Future Acts, heritage planning and all the politics involved with Aboriginal Corporations.
In November 2013, I was given the amazing opportunity by The Aurora Project to undertake a Native Title Internship at the National Native Tile Council (‘NNTC’) in Melbourne.
Internship at the National Native Title Council
I have always been interested in the rights and affairs of marginalised groups in developing and developed countries and through my course in Development Studies I took an interest in the complex field of native title within the country.
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to complete an Aurora Native Title internship during 18 January 2012 – 24 February 2012. Whilst I was based in the Native Title Services (NTSCORP) head office at Redfern, I was doing work for the National Native Title Council (NNTC) and NTSCORP.
